From Idea to Deployed App: Our 5-Step Development Process

Every great software product starts the same way — with an idea and a lot of uncertainty. The difference between products that succeed and those that don't often comes down to process.

At BroskiesHub, we've refined our development process across 20+ projects to minimize risk, maximize quality, and keep our clients in the driver's seat at every stage.

Why Process Matters More Than Technology

We've seen it too many times: teams jump straight into coding, choose the latest framework, and build features nobody asked for. Six months later, they have a technically impressive product that solves the wrong problem.

Our approach is different. We believe:

  • Understanding beats building — 1 hour of requirements discovery saves 10 hours of development
  • Communication beats documentation — regular, honest conversations prevent 90% of project failures
  • Iteration beats perfection — shipping early and improving beats endless polishing

The 5-Step BroskiesHub Process

Step 1: Requirements Discovery

Duration: 1-2 weeks

This is where most agencies rush. We don't.

We conduct deep-dive sessions with all stakeholders — not just decision-makers, but the actual users who will interact with the software daily. We explore:

  • Business goals — What does success look like in 6 months? In 2 years?
  • User workflows — How do people currently do their jobs? Where are the pain points?
  • Technical constraints — Existing systems, integrations, security requirements
  • Success metrics — How will we measure whether the software is actually working?

Deliverable: A comprehensive Requirements Document that both technical and non-technical stakeholders can understand and approve.

Step 2: Architecture & Design

Duration: 1-3 weeks

With clear requirements, we design the system architecture and user experience simultaneously. This is critical — a beautiful UI on a poor architecture crumbles at scale, and a robust backend with a confusing interface frustrates users.

Technical Architecture

  • System design and database schema
  • API design and integration planning
  • Security architecture and data flow
  • Scalability and performance considerations
  • Technology stack selection with justification

UI/UX Design

  • Wireframes for key user flows
  • High-fidelity mockups for critical screens
  • Interactive prototypes for complex interactions
  • Design system foundations (colors, typography, components)

Deliverable: Architecture Decision Record + Design mockups, both reviewed and approved by you before a single line of code is written.

Step 3: Development

Duration: 4-12 weeks (varies by scope)

Now we build — but not in isolation. Our development process is transparent and collaborative:

Sprint-Based Delivery

  • 2-week development sprints
  • Each sprint delivers working, testable features
  • Sprint demos where you see real progress, not slide decks

Engineering Standards

  • Code reviews — every pull request is reviewed by at least one other engineer
  • Automated testing — unit tests, integration tests, and end-to-end tests
  • CI/CD pipeline — automated builds, tests, and deployments
  • Clean code practices — consistent formatting, meaningful naming, clear abstractions

Communication Cadence

  • Brief daily standups (async or sync, your preference)
  • Sprint planning and review meetings
  • Dedicated Slack/Teams channel for quick questions
  • Weekly progress reports with metrics

Step 4: Client Feedback & Iteration

Duration: Ongoing through development

This isn't a phase that happens once at the end. It's woven into every sprint.

After each sprint demo, we collect structured feedback:

  • What works well? — Features to keep and polish
  • What needs adjustment? — Changes to implement in the next sprint
  • What's missing? — New requirements that have emerged
  • What's the priority? — Helping you make trade-off decisions when needed

We believe your satisfaction is the only definition of "done" we accept. If something doesn't feel right, we iterate until it does.

Step 5: Deployment & Beyond

Duration: 1-2 weeks initial, then ongoing

Deployment isn't the finish line — it's a new beginning.

Launch Preparation

  • Production environment setup and security hardening
  • Performance optimization and load testing
  • Data migration from existing systems
  • User acceptance testing (UAT) with real users

Launch Day

  • Staged rollout (not everyone at once)
  • Real-time monitoring and incident response
  • On-call support for the first 48 hours

Post-Launch

  • Performance monitoring and optimization
  • Bug fixes with priority-based SLAs
  • Feature enhancements based on real user data
  • Monthly health checks and security updates

What Our Clients Say

"BroskiesHub didn't just build what we asked for — they helped us figure out what we actually needed. Their process gave us confidence at every step."

"The sprint demos were a game-changer. We could see progress every two weeks and course-correct before anything went too far off track."

The Numbers Behind Our Process
